Bordeaux red Royal Gaussem is called after the oldest wine merchant company of Bordeaux.
The Gaussem family, originally from the Netherlands, settled at the gate of Bordeaux city in 1453 in order to start their own wine business. Conrad Gaussem is the architect who built the famous Chartrons district where wine merchants used to store and ship their wines. Nowadays this prestigious name is of significant value for Mr. Olivier Fleury, whose grand-grand-mother was born Gaussem.
This wine is a classic of Bordeaux with a nice fruity base and a full body. It can be enjoyed young or kept in a cellar for a couple of years.
